August 2007 - Our 'Find'

We put a cheeky offer on a Volvo Amazon, 122S on Ebay and amazingly we won it! These were the only pictures we had seen of the car:

As you can see from the pictures, she'll be a long term project, having been sat in a barn for 34 years (her last tax disk expired January 1974) I'm sure she'll wait another few years!!

August 2007 - Collection

As we are in North Yorkshire and the car was near Tewkesbury, getting her home was always going to take some planning. Thankfully Ian's brother kindly lent us his trailer, so after a trip to Wales to collect it, we were on our way, with his dad in convoy on his bike to give us a hand in getting her loaded and help us tie her down. When we arrived she was in the barn where she'd been for previous 34 years, which made collecting her even better, as we were able to be a part of the whole event.

Above and Below: Poor Ian hand winching her onto the trailer! With the lane completely blocked and a car waiting to pass by, he was under pressure to get winching, eventually he managed it with blisters to show for his hard work :-(
